This is an exciting day for On The Run! We’re launching a new blog series to start better connecting with you--our audience, community, friends.
I thought I’d start by telling you a little bit about myself and the heart behind On The Run. If you click on my “about page”, here’s the me you’ll be introduced to:
And sure, this really is me. I’ve got the whole hair thing down, can dress myself up in a fabulous dress and produce an event like nobody’s business. But what most people don’t know, is that I didn’t start life this way, in a big city, moving and shaking. Nope, in fact, I grew up like this:
I was raised on a 5th generation cattle ranch, working the farm with my family as long as I can remember. Taking care of animals, making jam with Grandma, knowing the chores don’t get done if you don’t get up and do them. The truth is, this plays so much into what I do, and how I operate more than most may realize. When clients partner with me, they’re partnering with someone with work in her blood; someone whose life and work have been intertwined since birth.
As an event planner, I always feel like this brings a unique quality to my events. Tack on years spent in the hospitality industry in hotels and resorts, building operations in start-ups, running a bar and restaurant, playing food stylist, impromptu florist, designer, and doing events small and large for the last 4 years...On The Run was finally born.
The combination of my very rural upbringing and my experience in cosmopolitan settings means I can execute on a wide range of aesthetics with ease, and genuinely care about the work I do, as it is a reflection of who I am. One of the quotes that most sums up my life is “The way you do one thing is the way you do everything”. From modern and polished to down-home and rustic, I can create an event that encapsulates the look and feel you need. Thanks to years knee deep in (literal) crap, I am usually found rolling my sleeves up and getting dirty to make sure an event goes off without a hitch.
Outside of On The Run I’m a dog mom to Annabelle, my King Charles Spaniel, who is the best production dog, and sidekick ever. I’m also the Managing Partner at neighborhood bar and restaurant, The Brick Yard, and can be found jetting from place to place in my beloved city of San Francisco.
As this blog develops, you can expect exciting insider tips and insights about event planning, industry trends, and new ideas you may not have considered before. In addition, I’ll be featuring articles that support small businesses, ‘cause, hey. We gotta stick together!
Can’t wait to share more of my world with you and where my travels take me (as we travel often for projects!). And don’t be a stranger. . .follow me on social media to make sure you never miss a post. Don’t forget to check in via the contact page if you’ve got an event you’d like help with, or if you’ve got a topic you’d love for me to cover on the blog.
