Every chance I get, I seem to be consuming as much new content as I can get my hands on. Be it a great book with my Audible app, a Ted Talk, or a podcast, this is the stuff that keeps me refreshed and energized. Below are three podcasts that I’ve been listening to lately that have been encouraging for inspiring creativity, running a business, and living a more simplified life. Check them out and share what’s keeping you motivated and inspired these days.
The #1 New York Times bestselling author of Eat Pray Love released a new book titled Magic Lessons in September of 2015. She rolled out this podcast just before the book released… applying the messages of Magic Lessons to real life situations and bringing in some of her famous friends for input and advice. The result is a 12-session podcast that is non-stop encouragement the curious and creative looking for inspiration. I loved every session, but especially the last one from Brene Brown. If you can only listen to one, this would be the one I’d recommend.
Brand developer of the GET TO WORK BOOK® which provides tools to help you get your goals organized and do the work to reach them, Elsie Joy has a fabulous podcast called Elsie Gets Crafty. It’s a weekly podcast that talks mostly about creative small business. She has three seasons and I’ve only started to dig into her content, but every session has been full of encouragement and motivation for launching and running a small business. ON FINDING THE WORK YOU WERE MEANT TO DO was a highlight for me, and one I’d recommend starting with.
This podcast has been challenging and inspiring on a whole ‘nother level. I don’t think I will ever be able to commit to and live out a fully “minimalist” lifestyle, but every session I listen to has great nuggets that can be applied to everyday life. Authors Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus write and speak about living a meaningful life with less stuff. They have been featured on ABC, CBS, NBC, BBC, TODAY, NPR, TIME, Forbes, The Atlantic, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and National Post… just to name a few. If you are willing to be challenged on our need to live with all the stuff we do, then give this one a listen.
